400g spaghetti
4 cloves of garlic, finely chopped
4 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil
Half a teaspoon of red pepper flakes
2 tablespoons of freshly chopped parsley
|
Salt to taste
1. Fill a large pot with water and bring it to a boil on the gas stove. Add a generous amount of salt to the water.
2. Add the spaghetti to the boiling water and cook it according to the package instructions until it's al dente.
3. While the spaghetti is cooking, heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat on the gas stove.
4. Add the sliced garlic and red pepper flakes to the skillet and cook for 1-2 minutes until the garlic is fragrant and lightly golden. Be careful not to burn the garlic.
5. Remove the skillet from the heat and set it aside.
6. When the spaghetti is cooked, reserve a cup of the pasta cooking water and drain the rest.
7. Add the drained spaghetti to the skillet with the garlic and oil and toss to combine. If the pasta seems too dry, add some of the reserved pasta water to the skillet to create a sauce.
8. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
9. Garnish with chopped parsley and grated Parmesan cheese (if using).
10. Serve hot and enjoy your delicious Spaghetti Aglio Olio!
